Challenging 5k & 10k races through the countryside & around Godalming in the heart of the Surrey Hills, including a section through the grounds of Charterhouse public school, so picture postcard stuff, plus there is a great 1k Fun Run for the kids.
The Godalming run was first established as part of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebrations in 2012 & to celebrate the London Olympics. Since then we have attracted thousands of entrants & have raised over £17,000 for the Sport Godalming Champions Fund, Go for Gold which supports local Godalming based athletes in their bid for Olympic stardom.

Registration will be inside the Wilfrid Noyce Centre, adjacent to the Crown Court Car Park, & will open at 9.00am. All runners must pick up their race package from the Wilfrid Noyce Centre. Registration will be split into alphabetical order by surname & not race distance.
All Race Packs will include a race number & safety pins. Numbers need to be placed on the front of your race t-shirt/top so this is visible for the marshals.
Once you have collected your Race Pack, please head down to the start line located in the Philips Memorial Park / Bandstand & make your way to the designated waiting area to be called.
Godalming train station is less than five minutes' walk from the start line.
FREE Parking is available all day in Crown Court Car Park (with overflow parking at the Waverley Borough Council Car Park).
If using SAT NAV, please use the postcode GU7 1HR which will bring you to the Waverley Borough Council Car Park. Borough Road will be closed from 10am & during the event so please ensure you use the car parks available.
The 5k course is all run on roads. Road trainers are preferred for this race.
The 10k course includes challenging off-road sections including short sections of steep hill climbs on off-road paths in & around Charterhouse. Please ensure your running shoes are suitable for on & off road terrain.
You are responsible for your own race warm up. We will not be providing a pre-event warm up for any of the races.
All runners will set off from the Godalming Bandstand in the Philips Memorial Park, heading out into Borough Road with the fun runners doing a loop of "Charterhouse Green" before finishing back at the start point.
The 5k & 10k routes head out along Borough Road to pick up the scenic River Wey riverside path before climbing into the grounds of Charterhouse School.
All the 5k & 10k runners will experience beautiful views of Charterhouse School before going their separate ways. Whilst the 5k route heads back to the bandstand, the 10k route continues through the undulating woods surrounding the School & then heads back in to Godalming before starting the final climb up Westbrook Road & then looping back down to finish at the Bandstand.
This is a running event, so no walkers. Roads will be reopened at 1.00pm. If you are still on the course at this point you are responsible for finding your own way back to the start/finish line.

"I really enjoy taking part in events like this. The Godalming Run is a really good event, quite hilly & tough in places, but I like a challenge."
