The Godalming Run 2018 Sunday 13th May

“Now in its 7th year the Godalming run was first established as part of the Queens Diamond Jubilee celebrations in 2012 and to celebrate the London Olympics. In 2016 the event attracted over 800 entrants and raised over ¬£2000 for the Sport Godalming Champions Fund, Go for Gold which supports local Godalming based athletes in their bid for Olympic stardom. This year, we are looking to make this event bigger and better and look forward to welcoming you, whether you are taking part in the 1k Fun Run or the more challenging 5k and 10 runs.”

“With a 1K Fun Run for children and families and more challenging 5K and 10K distances for the more serious runners, there’s something for everyone. The 1k Fun Run is open to people of all ages. The 5K is open to aged 11 years and over ¬†whilst the 10K is open to those aged 16 years and over on the date of the run.”

“All runners will set off from the Godalming Bandstand in the Philips Memorial Park in the heart of Godalming town centre. The Fun Run will set off first with a loop of the riverside park area before finishing back at the start point. The 5K and 10K routes will then start together, heading out along Borough Road to pick up the scenic River Wey riverside path before climbing into the grounds of Charterhouse School where all runners will experience a glimpse of the stunning buildings that make up Charterhouse School, before going their separate ways. Whilst the 5K route heads back to the bandstand, the 10K route continues through the undulating woods surrounding the School before heading back into Godalming with a final climb up Westbrook Road and looping back down to finish at the Bandstand.”
